About Little Hollaway and East Prawle

Little Hollaway camping field is located slightly south of the village of East Prawle, on the lane heading

towards Prawle Point. It's a short distance to the South West Coastal Path and all the

beautiful beaches along this amazing stretch of Devon coastline, within the South Devon AONB.

Just a 30 minute walk to Prawle Point, which is the most southerly point in Devon, with panoramic views

in all directions and also a quick 10 minute stroll back up the lane to the heart of the village.

Prawle Point Coastguard lookout has an information centre with details of shipwrecks and local birdlife.

The coastguards also enjoy sharing information about their work there, so pop in and say hello!

East Prawle is the most southerly village in Devon, within the South Hams and enjoys it's own

micro-climate: often sunny when it's cloudy elsewhere! It's a 25 minute drive to Kingsbridge where

there's a good selection of both supermarkets and independent shops, a swimming pool and cinema.

In this quirky village you will find the local shop The Piglet Stores and the wonderful Piglet Cafe.

And then of course there's the infamous Pig’s Nose Inn – often host to live music

and serving a good lunch and dinner menu, including great wood-fired pizzas.

Springfield Farm Shop, on the A379, is closer to East Prawle than Kingsbridge: just 15 minutes

drive away with everything you might need from local meats, eggs, wine, fruit and vegetables.

The bustling sailing town of Salcombe is also nearby, accessible during the day via the

passenger ferry from East Portlemouth, where you'll also find Village Farm Cafe.

The nearest cashpoint and petrol station is 20 minutes drive at Ashby Stores, also on the A379.

Little Hollaway is open 7 days a week (May to September) with facilities including flushing toilets,

hot showers (£1), washing-up facilities (cold water) and drinking-water taps.

The field retains it’s magic as a simple camping field appealing to those that prefer to be slightly further

away from the village, with stunning panoramic sea-views. Dolphins can sometimes be seen jumping,

visible with the naked eye, but binoculars are also handy! During the day enjoy the amazing walks nearby and beautiful beaches in both directions and then relax round the campfire in the evening,

taking in the incredible view of the stars and planets visible on a clear night, with no light pollution.

There is very little or no phone signal in the field (or village) so you can enjoy a digital detox.

The pub and cafe have wifi, but using the internet in the field is tricky!

Little Hollaway is a quiet field...it's not the right field for you if you

want to play music or stay up chatting past Midnight!

Camping with us

We welcome campers in both tents and vans, but please be aware that the lanes from the A379

to the village and onwards down to Little Hollaway are very narrow with few passing places,

so are tricky for large motorhomes and therefore not suitable for towing caravans.

We are completely off-grid, with no power onsite, but there are fields up in the village that

can accommodate larger vehicles with electric hook-up.

Amplified music is not allowed, however we welcome singing round the campfire!

Dogs are welcome, but need to be tethered at all times. If your dog needs a run around off-lead,

you can do this in the car-parking field, but not within the camping field itself.

Fires and BBQs must be raised off the ground in a brazier, fire wok or similar

and we have some available to rent. â€‹â€‹

If you have booked as a group with the discount offered, your tents and vans should be positioned

in a huddle, close to each other. Large groups will be directed where to position themselves.

The camp manager, Helen, will be often be onsite and can assist if needed.

Cars & Parking

Once you have chosen your spot and unloaded your car please move it to the adjoining field.

During your stay with us you are not permitted to drive within the camping field.

The only exception is for those with a blue badge.

Bookings Recommended

Booking is strongly recommended, certainly for weekends and during the school holidays as the field

will be busy. Mid-week it's very possible that we can accommodate you without a booking (cash only),

but you may not be able to stay past Friday depending on numbers booked for the weekend.

Please email beforehand to avoid disappointment.
